No matter how much we wish we aren’t, the fact is, we are all objects in relation to one another. Objects that are not just gender and body related but job related, income related, intelligence related, youth related. How much we judge others or not, is rooted in our ego development and shaped by our libidinal interests. That is to say, psychoanalytic facts cemented in our development based on our experiences which shape our object choices. Normal infantile narcissism is allowed healthy development when we receive positive affirmations and acquire desirable and appealing objects that develop into healthy self-esteem.
